Strategy Session Mission

The mission of American Chess Events is to encourage and support chess instruction at beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. Our program teaches an understanding of fundamental rules, tactics, and strategies for the beginning player, and, for the more advanced player, it provides a homogeneous, integrated approach to the game.

GM Alejandro Ramirez

GM Alejandro Ramirez: Alejandro Ramirez earned the title of Grand Master at the age of 15! He is the highest rated player from the country of Costa Rica. His accomplishments are numerous, and they include: Winner of the New York International; Winner of the Morelia Open; 3-time Olympiad Participant. Alejandro has been teaching high-level chess for over 5 years. He is currently a member of the Arizona Scorpions U.S. Chess League team, and he lead them to their first ever playoff appearance last December (2009).

When & Where:

On Thursday March 4th, GM Ramirez will travel to Tucson for a three hour Strategy Session on the U of A Campus. Registration is closed to players rated 1600+ USCF.  Strategy Session will take place from 530pm-830pm.

Details:

$75. (Tucson Session is closed to 10 participants). $50 for Tucson Participants who register for the Phoenix events below!!!

  • NOTE: Participants whom also compete in the ACE Showdown tournament (February 27th-28th) will receive a $25 discount (reimbursed on site) to the Tucson Strategy Session.

  • NOTE: Participants that register for the Master Trek Grand Prix Cup tournament on March 6th will receive a $25 discount (reimbursed on site of Master Trek) to the Strategy Session.
