This tournament is conveniently scheduled between the Chicago Open and National Open in Las Vegas. Flights from Phoenix to Las Vegas are hourly on a daily basis, and Phoenix is a 5-6 hour drive from Las Vegas. Players making a “Summer Chess Schedule” would have a great time making a stop in Phoenix!

Sky Harbor International is the recommended Airport. Transportation is available if the organizer is notified in advance.

The Best Western Dobson Ranch Inn, 1666 S. Dobson Rd. Mesa, Arizona 85202 will be the hotel for the event. The Hotel rate is $55 a night. Mention “ACE Chess”, group #804408. • IM and GM Norms Possible
• Must be 2200 FIDE rated to participate. Special exceptions may be made for youth (Under 25 years old). NO PLAYER lower than 2000 FIDE will be permitted to play. GM and IM Norms will be possible.

Under new FIDE guidelines, all players need to be at their boards before the round starts. At the 2010 Copper State International, all players will be required to arrive in the tournament hall no later than 10 minutes before the start of the round! Upon multiple infractions of this request, a player may forfeit their rights to their $100 Entry Fee Reimbursement after the tournament.

REGISTRATION DETAILS:

2500+ = FREE (Email organizer to register/confirm tournament seating availability).

2450-2499 = $150 ($100 returned upon completion of tournament).

2350-2449 = $300 ($100 returned upon completion of tournament).

2200-2349 = $350 ($100 returned upon completion of tournament).

Below 2200 = $450 ($100 returned upon completion of tournament).

All Entry Fees increase by $50 after May 1^st.

All registrations, whether online or by mail, are considered to be final. NO reimbursements will be given!

Non-Titled Players of Foreign Federation will receive an additional $50 off the Entry Price, reimbursed upon completion of tournament.

Group B: 1st place: $1,500.00 – 2nd place: $1,200.00 – 3rd place: $1,000. – 4^th place: $800 – 5^th place: $300. Top U2500 FIDE: $300.00; Top U2400 FIDE: $300.00; Top U2300 FIDE $300.00.
