Although the feedback was generally very positive about the location of the August 14th Trek, due to logistical reasons we will not be able to host any further Master Trek tournaments at the Hyatt. ALL Master Treks for the remainder of the year will be held at ASU — PSA 118 Building. We apologize for the inconvenience…

Please join us on September 11th for the Master Trek at ASU. IM Dionisio Aldama will be competing in the top section, along with all the regular Trekkers!

Wow! It has been awhile… On behalf of ACE Chess, we hope everyone had a great summer! Looking ahead, the “Fall Scholastic Chess Season” is about to begin. We’d like to invite everyone to get their season going by coming to the Master Trek on August 14th at ASU. Early registration is open!

Please observe the “format changes” to the rating groups and divisions.

The 2010 Grand Prix Cup Award Ceremony will also take place on August 14th. All Stars will receive their plaques, while the MVPs of each rating group will also see their names engraved on the Cup… See you all soon!

The 2010 Copper State International, presented by Abstrax Inc came to a close on Wednesday June 9th in Mesa, Arizona. The tournament ended in the same way that it started: “Fighting Chess” on boards one through twenty! It seemed that every participant had something to play for down the stretch. Whether it was first place and prize money, norms, or pride — the event began with 40 players and ended with 40 players — not a single player withdrew…

Dear Friends,

In 2007 we held the first Summer Chess Academy. It was a huge success, as were our 2008 and 2009 camps.
The reasons are simple:  excellent chess instructors, physical education throughout the day in the form of games and activities led by a certified P.E. instructor, a great administrative staff, and healthy snacks and water.

More than 100 children and young people have attended each year.  They have a great time, have life-changing meetings in the classroom and across the chess board with the best chess players and teachers in the United States, and get plenty of physical activity.

As we begin our fourth year, I am happy to say that we will have an incredible chess instructional staff while at the same time having one of the most affordable chess camps in the entire nation! Click here for more information…
