And just like that… there were 16!
In case you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past two weeks, not following the action from Chennai OR the numerous media outlets (both chess and non-chess) reporting on the games – I figured I’d follow up my last update with another “obvious news flash”: On Friday, November 22nd Magnus Carlsen drew against Viswanathan Anand to score 6.5 points out of 10 (best of 12 match) to become the 16th Chess Champion of the World (in classical, match format).
Woo, glad I got that off my chest!
Moving on, another reminder I promised to make to you all regarding my plans for “Turkey Chess” this weekend! Happy Thanksgiving whether you come out or not! I can say that I’m definitely excited to play and I hope to see any of you not enjoying travel this holiday weekend there with me. You can register for the Phoenix Open by going to UnityChess.com!
Come out and support one of the first “major open” events we’ve had in back to back years!
